How to find your Bybit UID, and why it is all we need
Your UID is a plain account number, safe to share. Here is where it lives in the Bybit app and on the website, and what we do with it.
What a UID is
Every Bybit account has a numeric user ID, the UID. It identifies the account the way an account number identifies a bank account. It is not a password, not a key, and knowing it does not let anyone log in, trade or move funds. Bybit shows it openly in your profile for exactly that reason.
Where to find it
On the website: log in, click your profile icon in the top-right corner. The UID is the number shown directly under your email or nickname, with a copy button next to it.
In the app: tap the profile icon in the top-left corner of the home screen. Your UID is the first line under your name. Tap it to copy.
In a sub-account: sub-accounts have their own UIDs. For rebates you need the master UID, the one of the main account you log in with. Sub-account trading counts toward the master automatically.
Why we ask for the UID and nothing else
Bybit gives affiliates an API over their own referral tree. With your UID we can ask Bybit one question: is this account referred by us? The answer is instant and comes from Bybit's own records. We do not need to read your trades, your balances or anything else.
What makes it safe
Payouts are internal transfers to the linked UID only. If someone typed a UID that is not theirs, the rebate would land in the real owner's account. There is nothing to gain and nothing to attack, which is why we never need to ask for more.
Common mistakes
- Pasting a sub-account UID. Use the master.
- Pasting a UID from an account that was not registered with our referral link. Bybit does not allow adding a referral afterwards, so that account can never earn rebates with us.
- Confusing the UID with the referral code. The referral code is ours; the UID is yours.
